How to setup Deakin email/calendar in Outlook (iPad/iPhone)

  1. Open the Settings app.
     
  2. Select Passwords and Accounts  from the left menu.


     
  3. Select Add Account.


     
  4. Select Exchange.

  5. Enter the following details:
     
    • Email: Your primary Deakin email address
      • For staff it's predominantly firstname.lastname@deakin.edu.au
      • For students it's username@deakin.edu.au
    • Description: Something meaningful e.g. Deakin email
       
  6. Select Next in the top right corner.
     
  7. Select Sign In
     
  8. Enter your Deakin Password


     
  9. Choose the services you wish to synchronise and select Save.

If you return to the account settings you can modify the amount of time the mail will be kept or delete the account from your device.

 

Data usage

By default, the Fetch New Data option will be set to Push. This means email will update immediately, which also means it may use your data if you are not connected to wi-fi at the time. It is therefore recommended that Push be turned off and Manual selected.
