How to create an Outlook 2011 archive (Mac OS X)

  1. Open Outlook 2011 by selecting Applications Microsoft Office 2011 > Microsoft Outlook.

    Shows the Microsoft Outlook icon.
  2. Click File, then Export.

    Shows the Export button within the File tab.
  3. Select Outlook for Mac Data File (.olm).
    • Select Items of the following types: and tick the box next to the things you want to archive.
    • Click the right arrow to continue.

    Shows the Export window.
  4. Select No, do not delete items otherwise it will delete the mail from the server.
    • Click the right arrow to continue.

    Shows the Delete After Exporting prompt.
  5. Choose the location where you want to save the archive file.

    Shows the Save window.
  6. Outlook will start archiving the selected content.

    Shows the Export status window.
