Where can I download software at Deakin?

I am a student with my own laptop.

Apps on Demand is a free service that lets Deakin students access course and computer lab software from anywhere. Students can log in to Apps on Demand using their Deakin username and password at appsondemand.deakin.edu.au or via DeakinSync. An app—the Citrix Receiver app—is also available for students to download for free for iPhone, iPad and Android devices.

The Software Library provides Deakin students with access to software that they may need or find useful.

As a Deakin student, you can also download the latest versions of Microsoft Office for free on PC and Mac (up to five computers).

I am a staff member with a Deakin-managed computer.

Deakin staff can download and install software from the Software Catalogue (Windows) or Self Service (Mac) on your computer.

  • Windows - Start > All Programs > Software Catalogue
  • Mac - Click the Self Service icon  located in the dock

It is recommended that staff using a Deakin-managed computer do not install alternate versions of the same software that is available through the software catalogue.

You can request software to be packaged and deployed for both teaching and learning (computer labs) and work purposes.

I am a staff member using my own, personal computer.

Like Deakin students, the Software Library provides Deakin staff with access to software that they may need or find useful.

There are also other many great software offers at Deakin University for Staff:
