Why is Deakin's Wi-Fi network so slow?

There are many reasons why a Wi-Fi network can be slow at times, including:

  • your proximity to the nearest access point
  • how many devices are using the same access point
  • interference from Bluetooth signals and other Wi-Fi networks

If you're a student the Deakin Wi-Fi may be slow if you have run out of Internet quota.

So what are my options?

An option may be to use a wired network connection if your device supports it and an active data point is available.

If you're a student and you've used your Internet quota, contact the IT Service Desk to discuss your options.
