VGA resolution not supported' when connecting a computer during a video conference

What do I do if there is an error message 'VGA resolution not supported' on the screen?

  • If you receive this message, you need to alter the display resolution on your computer. A resolution of 1024 x 768 is recommended for most spaces, but this will depend on the AV hardware that's installed at your location. Deakin is gradually introducing high definition equipment into its teaching spaces and meeting rooms, and this equipment can have a resolution of up to 1920 x 1080.
    • Windows: Right-click Desktop > Screen resolution and adjust the resolution as required.

      Shows the Screen Resolution page.
    • Mac OS X: Go to System Preferences > Displays.

Shows the Display page, within System Preferences.
