How to Manage Video file sizes

Why are videos files so large

As video files are simply a collection of images and an audio track bound in a to a single file that can become quite large very quickly.  The size of your video will impact directly on how long it will take to upload the file and how long it will take to process for editing or being added to DeakinAir. These impacts will vary according to the speed and quality of your internet connection (physical, wifi, 4G) and the capacity of your computing.

No mater what you create your video with it will be labeled one of the basic types:

  • Standard Definition (SD)
  • High Definition (HD)
  • Full HD
  • A media file of video and/or audio
  • A stable internet connection
  • Access to the Deakin Software Library
